Description

The Postern Gate is a fun place to visit, located next to the entrance of the Casemate Museum.

The Postern Gate was constructed as part of the original Fort Monroe casemate in the 1820's. It was built as a pedestrian footbridge. The original iron gate that was at the entrance has long been gone.
